Preschool Teacher

The Darien Park District’s First Step Preschool is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to join our staff for the 2022-23 school year. Candidates must be fun-loving, patient and enthusiastic with a desire to make a difference in a child’s life. Teachers must be DCFS qualified having at least 60 hours of college with at least 6 hours of Early Childhood Education from an accredited college. A BA in ECE is a plus!

Requirements:

1. Experience with children
2. Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to get by start date)
3. Ability to work with young children and their families
4. Ability to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum
5. Ability to team teach
6. Excellent organizational skills
7. Punctual, reliable and able to multi-task
8. Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours required
9. Must commit to staff meetings, special events and professional development (15 hours per year)
