May 4 - Dahlias - Living
presented by Carol Cichorski
Social time 6:30 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m.
St. John's Lutheran Church, 7214 South Cass Avenue, Darien

Carol was already garden-addicted when she and her husband Mike moved into their small house on a half-acre lot 17 years ago. She was very much a novice gardener at that time. Carol and Mike, "found" dahlias 14 years ago and their lives have not been the same since. They plant tubers in the basement in February and grow about 500 plants each year with 100 of them going into their own garden.

Mike is past president of the Central States Dahlia Society. Carol loves to share their dahlia passion and knowledge and let you know how you can grow dahlias too. Carol is past president of the Elk-Grove Garden Club, an avid blogger, has spoken at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show and was published in Chicago Gardening Magazine. Plan on joining us for this inspiring program.
