2013 Plant Sale

Upcoming Programs

The Darien Garden Club will be conducting a plant sale at the Darien Park District’s Farmer’s Market on June 10th and 17th, 3-7pm at Westwood Park, 75th and Fairview Ave, Darien IL. The sale will offer a wide variety of perennials, some annuals and vegetables. Our plants are all very reasonably priced and our members are happy to share their gardening wisdom.

The June meeting of the Darien Garden Club will be held at the Indian Prairie Library, 401 Plainfield Road, Darien, IL, in recognition of upcoming National Garden Week, June 7th -13, 2015. We are hosting this program in collaboration with the library as an outreach to educate the general public on the importance of general gardening information and to help increase awareness of the gardening efforts taking place throughout our community. The program is free and open to the public, however the library requests advance registration. Contact the library via phone (630-887-8760) to reserve your spot.

The guest speaker of the evening will be Sandy Wentworth who is part of the marketing team at Proven Winners. Sandy's strong knowledge and love of gardening is what brought her to Proven Winners. She is often out in the community teaching others about plants on behalf of Proven Winners. Her hobbies include gardening and experimenting with plants, pushing them to their full potential. During our Monday evening lecture, Sandy will discuss the process of developing new annual plants and how new plants are brought to market. She will provide tips for creating exceptional container arrangements and factors to consider when combining different plants. We look forward to an informative and inspiring evening.
