Garden Club
The Darien Park District Garden Club is a friendly organization filled with fun people who enjoy gardening and want to learn more about their hobby. If you are interested in gardening, you are invited to visit us as a guest at any meeting. You will be greeted warmly and made welcome. Guest may attend two meetings prior to becoming a member. Membership is $20 annually.

June 1, 2013, from 10 am to 2 pm on the grounds of the Indian Prairie Library.
Home grown perennials, annual baskets, herbs, vegetables, some shrubs and grasses. Knowledgeable gardeners to help make selections. Raffles for lovely painted rain barrel and other items.

Cathy McGlynn, Coordinator, Northeast Illinois Invasive Plant Partnership
Invasive plants have considerable economic and ecological impacts throughout the northeast Illinois region. Many of these plants were brought here to beautify gardens and then escaped to natural areas. Cathy will briefly discuss how plants escape and the laws and regulations regarding the sale and distribution of plants that are known to be invasive in northeast Illinois or neighboring regions. Information about known, and potential, invasive ornamentals and native alternatives will be provided.
